Miles & More Gold Card Business
The Gold Card Business is the premium Miles & More product for qualifying self-employed people and business users. It combines the business earning rate with a premium insurance and travel package, so the decision is about useful protection—not a temporary bonus alone.
The regular terms at a glance
| Item | Regular term |
|---|---|
| Card fee | €11.50 per month (€138 per year) |
| Base earning | 1 award mile per €1 of eligible business spend |
| Mileage protection | Miles remain valid while an eligible Blue or Gold card is active |
| Travel package | Premium business-travel insurance, assistance and selected services; conditions apply |
| Foreign-currency cost | 1.95% issuer fee; ATM-operator charges can still apply |
| Repayment | Confirm the current business-card repayment and price-list settings before applying |
Gold Business costs €72 more per year than Blue Business. Both business cards in this guide earn one mile per €1, so the Gold premium is principally for insurance, assistance and partner services—not a higher base earning rate.
What the Gold package adds
- Business travel insurance: the issuer lists premium cover for travel-related medical costs, cancellation and interruption, and rental cars. Payment rules, deductibles, limits and exclusions vary by policy section; read the current certificate before replacing another policy.
- Travel support: Allianz Telemedicine and 24-hour assistance can help during a business trip, subject to their access and eligibility conditions.
- Hotel and partner benefits: Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status and selected Avis benefits can add value when the card is valid and any required registration is completed.
- Everyday travel extras: the issuer lists limited foreign ATM-fee relief, Flexiroam data packages and other partner services. Check current limits, participating locations and activation steps before assigning them a cash value.
- MilesPay and Points: eligible miles can be used through MilesPay under its terms, and card earn may be exchangeable for Points within the current annual limit. Welcome and promotional miles can be excluded from that exchange.
Business eligibility is not automatic. The official product page is addressed to self-employed people and business users; the issuer decides whether your company, activity and residency qualify. Keep personal spending off the business card and retain the current terms.
Insurance is not a cash rebate. Count it only when the cover matches trips you actually take and you would otherwise pay for comparable protection. A claim can still involve deductibles, card payment requirements or excluded activities.
Mileage protection after cancellation
While an eligible Gold or Blue card is active, Miles & More protects miles collected before and during the card period from the normal 36-month expiry. After cancellation, ordinary expiry rules apply again, with the issuer’s stated grace period. Record the card end date and any redemptions you still need to make.
When Gold Business is worth comparing
Gold can fit when you have genuine qualifying business spend, travel often enough to use the insurance or assistance, do not already have equivalent cover and can justify €138 every year. Compare the value of real trips and services with the €66 Blue Business alternative, not just the long benefit list.
When Blue Business or another card is safer
- You mainly want the business earning rate and mileage protection: start with Blue Business and keep the €72 difference.
- Your spending is personal: compare Gold Private instead of using a business product for personal purchases.
- Your business cannot meet the issuer’s eligibility rules: no bonus compensates for an ineligible application.
- Existing insurance already covers the same risks: use the all-card comparison to avoid paying twice.
- You are applying mainly for a temporary promotion: check the verified card-offer page and its review date, rather than an old screenshot or referral page.
How to read a temporary offer
An offer can improve first-year arithmetic, but it cannot change business eligibility, the €138 recurring fee, insurance conditions or any product commitment. We publish a bonus amount and deadline only after a fresh official-source review on the verified card-offer page. If no Gold Business entry appears there, evaluate the card using the regular terms above.
